Method
Official NOAA observations remain separate from the MitchellCo marine-condition screening score. Score = 100 × [0.60 × min(wave height / 6 m, 1) + 0.40 × min(wind speed / 20 m/s, 1)]. If one component is missing, the available component receives full weight. If both are missing, no score is assigned. This is a relative situational-awareness indicator, not an official hazard category, forecast, or safety threshold.
